MEET ALAN ARLT

From Rec League to National Brand—Now I Help Others Build

I’ve always loved building things.

Not just companies, but ideas, brands, and communities. Things that didn’t exist until someone cared enough to bring them to life.

For me, it’s always started with sports. I grew up with it, played it, worked in it, and eventually built my life around it. Sports startups? That’s my sweet spot. Nothing is more fulfilling than helping an idea find its footing, gain traction, and turn into something that matters.

That was the inspiration behind launching Arlt Consulting Co.

I wanted to create a place where I could pour my energy into helping others start and grow their sports ventures. To problem-solve. To shape brand strategies. To reach new markets. To help founders create experiences that live in people’s memories and build digital platforms that become part of a user’s daily rhythm.

The kind of app you open first thing in the morning and check one last time before you sleep.

Before this chapter, my path took me from the media world of New York City—where I helped Discovery Networks generate over $100M in ad sales—to founding Ultimate Hoops, Inc., a rec league that grew into a national brand and was acquired by Life Time, Inc. just 18 months in.

That success wasn’t just about business. It was about what happens when you build something with real purpose.

One of my proudest creations from that time was the phrase “Never Retire.”

It started as a motto for Ultimate Hoops, but it’s bigger than that. It’s how I live. I hope—God willing—to never retire.

To keep building, creating, advising, and playing the game I love for as long as I’m able.

When I’m not in work mode, I’m at home with my incredible wife, Mary, our two daughters, Olivia and Mila, and our golden retrievers, Romeo and Jake.

This work is personal.

It’s a calling.

And if you’re trying to build something that moves the sports world forward, I’d love to help.
